Two of Sharptone Records’ flagship and veteran bands, Miss May I and We Came As Romans have been hard at work recording new music. While WCAR dropped two singles in September of last year (“Carry The Weight” and “From The First Note”), Miss May I released their 6th album, Shadows Inside, all the way back in 2017. Luckily, it appears both bands have music on the horizon, and sooner than you might think as well.
Would you look at that – I’m writing about another Aussie metal band! This time around, I’ve got my hands on DVSR’s second full-length, West Technique. I became aware of the group with the single “Bloodlust,” which features Thy Art is Murder’s CJ McMahon. The niche of proggy metal with rapping at the forefront is one I enjoy, so I look forward to dissecting this before it drops this Friday.
I’ve personally given Slaves a lot of coverage this year – and for good reason. They’ve released a staggering SEVEN singles ahead of their new album, To Better Days. And I’ve loved every single one so far. New vocalist Matt McAndrew had large shoes to fill, but could you ask for a better replacement than a Voice runner-up? Now that the album is set to drop this Friday, I have a chance to examine it front to back.
