I’ll cut right to the chase here. North Carolina self-styled emo pop band Lowborn’s new single, “Crazy”, sounds positively huge. Comparisons might abound to their more popular peers like PVRIS, Palisades, or Colours, but Lowborn combine guitar-driven melodies and poppy, emotive vocal hooks in a way that most bands fail to do very well. This combination is itself a talent, but it’s rendered meaningless when the songwriting isn’t up to par. Luckily, Lowborn seems to have that down pretty well, too.
