Color us highly impressed by “Alive”, the new single from post-hardcore band I Hate Heroes. While the band’s name admittedly may remind you of about 20 other bands, I Hate Heroes channel both pop-punk and metallic post-hardcore in almost equal measure. The A Day To Remember influence is blatantly obvious upon the first listen to “Alive”, but that’s certainly not a bad thing at all. However, I Hate Heroes differentiate themselves from like-minded bands by incorporating impressive metal guitar. Seriously, listen to the beginning of “Alive” – it really sets the tone for the whole song.
The band’s new record, Save Yourself, drops September 4th – and if this new single is anything to go by, fans of post-hardcore and pop-punk will find plenty to sink their teeth into. Certainly a band to keep on the collective radar, indeed.
