This Day In Music History: November 15th, 2010 – A Day To Remember releases “What Separates Me From You”

If 2009’s Homesick was the initial salvo for A Day To Remember, then 2010’s What Separates Me From You was the band’s true breakout album, cementing the Ocala rock band as one that could adeptly merge pop-punk and metalcore. From the initial teaser of “2nd Sucks” a couple months prior to release to the anthemic “All I Want”, WSMFY was a solid album that continued to fuel a rapidly growing fanbase.

Released on this day in 2010, it was another borderline game-changing album that saw the band hitting Warped Tour and the road in general very hard. Does the album still hold up today? You be the judge. Certainly, any album that had to follow the smash auccess of Homesick was going to be a tough task. However, filled to the brim with huge songs, the record is also a sort of stepping stone to the underrated Common Courtesy album. It’s still pretty impressive today, and proves that A Day To Remember aren’t really a band that knows how to release a bad record. Plus, the album art is pretty sick.
