WWE NXT

Takeover : The End

Winter Park, Florida

June 8th, 2016

Singles Match
Tye Dillinger vs. Andrade Almas

Debut for Almas and crowd is super hot for Dillinger. A fast paced match where both guys got some good spots and moves in. Almas winning was a no brainer given his debut but the crowd was happy either way and behind both guys here.

WWE NXT Tag Team Title Match
American Alpha (Chad Gable & Jason Jordan) (c) vs. The Revival (Dash Wilder & Scott Dawson)

A fast paced but still very technical tag match. This is two teams that work together great and keep the action going while maintaining a level of technical wrestling that most won’t be able to touch. Several moments and spots where the match could have easily ended but instead they kept the crowd on the edge to keep going.

Singles Match
Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Austin Aries

A great match from two guys who got in there, got the time to do it right, and told a story. Austin missing his move giving Nakamura the chance to finish it all was great. The crowd was behind this big time and the ending moments had everyone going.

4 / 5

WWE NXT Women’s Title Match
Asuka (c) vs. Nia Jax

This told the story of someone facing a giant and it worked. Asuka got the overwhelming the odds win and Nia got sold as the big powerhouse. It was just an okay match though. Slower and sluggish in parts due to Pia being more brute and less of an agile mover type.

2.5 / 5

WWE NXT Title Steel Cage Match
Samoa Joe (c) vs. Finn Balor

A good match to end a rivalry and give NXT its first cage match. Balor and Joe both got their moves in and the kick outs had the crowd going. Joe doing his move off the second rope to end this gave it the big epic feel that the match needed.
