Clash At The Castle

Cardiff, Wales, UK

Sept. 3rd, 2022

Six Man Tag Team Match
Alexa Bliss, Asuka & Bianca Belair vs. Damage CTRL (Bayley, Dakota Kai & IYO SKY)

A really fun opening 6 women tag match. Nonstop action that didn’t slow down with a lot of good team moves. They built the hot tag to Bianca slow and the crowd was into this entire match. A few minutes trimmed off would have made it better but they gave these women a lot of time for this match.

WWE Intercontinental Title Match
Gunther (c) vs. Sheamus

A fantastic match here. The best match of Sheamus’ career even I’d say. A lot of hard hits, close falls, and big moves. The crowd was into this a ton and behind Sheamus even. Good story telling throughout it with Sheamus’ back. The end spot though looked sloppy though.

4.5 / 5

WWE SmackDown Women’s Title Match
Liv Morgan (c) vs. Shayna Baszler

A decent match with a good in ring story with both women playing off each others arm. Baszlers arm came into her not being able to do her finisher. Liv came off like a heart filled baby face here. The crowd just wasn’t super into most of it given the previous match.

Tag Team Match
Edge & Rey Mysterio (w/Dominik Mysterio) vs. The Judgment Day (Damian Priest & Finn Balor) (w/Rhea Ripley)

A lot more illegal action than expected. Usually WWE keeps it to a minimum but it was prevalent here often. A decent tag match though. A lot of action and I really liked Reys finisher right into Edges for the win.

Singles Match
Seth Rollins vs. Matt Riddle

Rollins played a great heel here between the trash talk and using others finishers. This was a good match up between these two. Riddle didn’t get a lot of close falls but did get a lot of offense in. Wasn’t a huge fan of the chair ending or the weak curb stomp though. Still a really good match between two great wrestlers.

3.75 / 5

WWE Title / WWE Universal Title Match
Roman Reigns (c) vs. Drew McIntyre

Some of this main event was actually really good. Drew was super over so having him lose dirty is the only way to go. There were some good close falls throughout but both men ate the others finishers several times. The issue here was at just over 30 minutes there was so much of this match that dragged on for far too long. A lot of stalling or mat time here just made it too up and down. Still a good match though and I assume they’ll keep the feud going.
