Right alongside bands like Kingmaker, Rooks, and a host of other bands in the Midwest, Sworn In and Barrier rank as some of the more important bands to emerge from the Chicago (and surrounding) areas in the early part of the 2010’s. They helped to pioneer a low, heavy, and angry metalcore/downtempo sound that many a band would attempt (and fail miserably) to copy in their wake. While both of these bands (especially Sworn In) have gone on to notable success outside of their regional scene, it’s clear that there is plenty of love for both bands’ older material.
Considering Fearless Records just releases a remastered version of their Start/End EP, it seemed the perfect time for Sworn In and Barrier to play all their older material, which happened just a few short days ago in Wisconsin. To nobody’s surprise, it sold out quickly, and now you can view full sets from both bands below
