Last month, Mudvayne returned to the stage for the first time since their return from hiatus earlier this year. And while their second slated show at Louder Than Life was canceled due to Chad Gray coming down with the sickness (AKA COVID), their set at Aftershock Festival in Cali over the weekend was very well-received, to say the least.
The band played multiple songs off their debut album L.D. 50, including “Dig” and “Internal Primates Forever”, among others. The album still has an enduring and cult popularity among metal fans, so it’s not a surprise they’d play the older songs. Notably, this sounds far, far better than their Inkcarceration performance.
While there’s no word on if or when the band will be recording new music of any sort, it’s pretty clear that their reunion wasn’t for a cash grab or anything like that. There’s still real interest in the band – as there should be.
