Watch Linkin Park’s 2003 mini documentary, “The Making Of Meteora”

It was 14 years ago that Linkin Park managed to follow up their groundbreaking and successful debut album Hybrid Theory, with their sophomore album, Meteora. Instead of possibly relegating the band to flash in the pan status, it sold millions of copies worldwide and cemented the band as an arena-sized act from the outset.

The album was both a doubling down of the rap-rock sound they explored on Hybrid Theory, but there were signs of future, more electronically-driven releases – the electronica-influenced “Breaking The Habit”, especially. The band also released a 30 minute documentary about the album, which can be found on the Deluxe Edition of Meteora. It’s a great insight into what the young band was doing in 2002-2003, and considering the album could have easily been a sophomore slump, it’s interesting to see how Linkin Park evolved.

Rest in power, Chester Bennington.
