Twenty One Pilots bring “Clancy” to the United Center for the first night of their two night stay

Twenty One Pilots have a diehard fan base and it showed no clearer than at the United Center last night. For the first night of their 2 night stay here supporting their “The Clancy World Tour”, the two piece consisting of Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun, saw fans dressed just like them ready for the evening.

For a 2+ hour set the duo blasted through an almost 30 song setlist spanning their career. While heavy with songs from their latest album “Clancy”, fans were treated to hits and deeper cuts including a medley. Kicking off with “Overcompensate,” “Holding On To You”, and “Vignette” along with the likes of “Car Radio” was the kick start the crowd needed to fully let go.

With a stage set featuring pyro, lasers, smoke, back flips, teleportation to the top of the level seats of the arena, and more they for sure took great use of all the space they had. The band even featured a B side stage and unlike most arena acts who use one, they put their nearly ground level on the side of the general admission floor, giving fans an even closer and more intimate feeling to go with it for those who were close.

It really should be said just how big of an impact though the band has on fans. The set featured a video taken earlier in the day outside the arena of fans singing a song which the band then used to break into the song on stage. Fans were dressed like the members have across various albums and tours, had signs, and were hugging each other while singing along to every word.

New Zealand upcoming indie pop rockers Balu Brigada kicked off the evening. While new to the states the group had fans receptive and enjoyable gaining some new fans with their set.
