yoshii
Recently we caught up with Yoshii Rodriguez (Guitar) of Victory Records band Neurotic November. We asked Yoshii to share his top ten albums of all time with us and what they meant to him. read below to find out and check out their new release “Anunnaki” out now on Victory Records!

My top ten favorite albums!

My first two favorite albums are by the same artist, The Beatles! The albums that I enjoy mostly are Let It Be and Rubber Soul. My father showed me The Beatles when I was really young and I have always been a big fan. I always say “I cannot die until I meet Paul McCartney”! Rubber Soul was the album I listened to the most as a kid, I think I know every single lyric for the whole album, and Let It Be has some of my favorite hit songs!

My third favorite album, HANDS DOWN, is Bullet For My Valentine’s “The Poison”. I am a HUUUUUUUGE BFMV fan! Every single song on that album is great! That was the album that made me decide to play “Metalcore”, I remember the first time I heard BFMV I was going through a difficult time in my life (a family death). Because they had the perfect blend of Heavy and Emotion, it made me feel so much better. The first time I heard the starting track “Intro” I got goosebumps.

My 4th and 5th favorite albums are also from the same band. Rush’s 2112 and Moving Pictures album’a are astonishing! Rush is a band that was way ahead of their time. A band made by three fantastic Canadian musicians. The album 2112 has my favorite Rush song, “The Temple of Syrinx” and also has a crazy song called “A Passage to Bangkok” which is another favorite of mine. And Moving Pictures has their hits “Tom Sawyer”, “YYZ”, “Red Barchetta”, and “Limelight”. All insane songs !!!!!

My 6th favorite album is Creatures by Motionless In White. That’s my favorite MIW album so far, and they are one of my favorite bands. The album captures a dark feel, but still has it’s fast parts, heavy breakdowns, and parts that make you want to jump! That was a greatly produced album by Andrew Wade. Each song flows perfectly into the next. My two favorite songs from that album are “Abigail” and “Scissorhands (The Last Snow)”.

Metallica’s Master of Puppets is number 7! Metallica is another band my dad showed me. The album is fast and angry with songs like “Battery” and “Master of Puppets” but then has the song “Welcome Home (Sanitarium)”. Most people I know prefer their album Kill Em’ All, I love that album and I even have the cassette tape, but I just think Master of Puppets shows a more mature Metallica.

Number 8 is This War Is Ours by Escape The Fate. The album flows well, is full of great hits, and sounds great! The producer did a great job grasping their true amazing sound. As a producer myself, that is something I truly enjoy. I hope one day while I work on Neurotic November’s songs in my studio I can get such a raw sound like that!

Album 9 is an album with each track being a hit, because it is literally a song of the bands best hits ! Led Zeppelin’s Mothership is easy to enjoy since it has all of their top songs. I was a big Led Zeppelin fan in middle school so whenever I play this album it throws me way back and gives me awesome memories of when I began playing guitar!

The last album on this list is Burnin’ by Bob Marley! Although is doesn’t have my favorite Bob Marley song “Roots, Rock, Reggae” , it does have most of the songs my dad used to play when I was a baby. For example, “Get Up, Stand Up” and “I Shot The Sheriff”.
