Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 are getting full 4K remasters later this year with original soundtracks

Anyone who’s between the ages of 25-40 likely grew up playing Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater in the late 90’s // early 2000’s. The games, which were easily the biggest games to popularize skateboarding video games to date, also sported iconic soundtracks featuring the likes of AFI, Papa Roach, Goldfinger, and many more. It’s not a surprise that many of these bands also played Vans Warped Tour at one point, where the worlds of punk, rock, and skate culture were already intertwined each summer. Unfortunately, there hasn’t been a notably good addition to the series in quite some time, so it’s also not much of a surprise that the first two entries in the series – some of the most heralded in the THPS franchise – are seeing 4k remasters later this year.

The games, which will be bundled together as Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2, will also feature almost all of the original soundtrack – though a few couldn’t be obtained due to licensing issues. The games will feature modern amenities like online Create-A-Park modes that didn’t exist 20 years ago, too. They’re due out for release September 4th, and you can watch a trailer below, as well. If you’ve never played these for some reason, you’re in for a real treat.
