TNF Premiere: Exciting mathcore band Autocatalytica debuts new video for “Zippler”

A DIY ethic and an unrelenting passion for experimental metal defines Autocatalytica, and we’re stoked to be teaming up with the band for the premiere of their new video for “Zippler”. What you need to know about the band is this – they take the experimental tendencies of Devin Townsend and Dillinger Escape Plan and turn them up to 11.

Autocatalytica is a bubbling cauldron of scatter-brained prog-metal insanity helmed by guitarist/vocalist Eric Thorfinnson. The newest release for the band “Powerclashing Maximalism” was recently released last month on October 16th. The LP is the band’s third and it explores all corners of Autocatalytica’s sound in a tight 36-minute runtime over eight tracks, from the Meshuggah-esque stomp of “Borndun” to the Jazzy Math Rock of “Cheggo”.

Today, in support of the album, the band is sharing their latest lyric video for the track “Zippler”. A song written about the illusion of free will, it splits down the middle in the vein of the likes of Protest the Hero and the Mars Volta, it’s zippy, groovy, and has got some chaos thrown in for good measure.

The band has already garnered the support of Metal Trenches, who said this about the band recently:

“Crazy mathcore meets jazz-infused progressive music and avant-garde… Fabulously unique and always thrilling”
