This Day In Music History: April 26th, 2011 – Deafheaven releases debut record, “Roads To Judah”

There’s nothing better than seeing one of your favorite bands as they ascend from an unknown entity to one of the most talked about metal bands of the last 5-10 years. We’re referring to acclaimed metal band Deafheaven, who experienced critical praise and adoration when 2013’s Sunbather was released, and even more when 2015’s New Bermuda vaulted them into the stratosphere.

Before there was Sunbather, however, there was their 2011 debut album Roads To Judah. The album, which was released on April 26th, 2011, packs a post-black metal punch. While it’s only 4 tracks long, it packs some of their best material together, and it truly set the tone for the future success. Stream the album below, and revisit Roads To Judah. The best track on here? Probably “Language Games”, but it’s best experienced in full.
