This Day In Music History: May 29th, 2007 – Circa Survive releases ‘On Letting Go’

There’s plenty of albums that, in any era, avoid the dreaded sophomore slump. Meteora, The Bends, Around The Fur, Worship & Tribute, and Say Hello To Sunshine are but a few good examples – and in many cases, the benefit of experience helps a collective expand on what made their first material exciting.

Such was the case for Circa Survive on 2007’s On Letting Go. The sequel to their celebrated 2005 debut Juturna, there’s much more power evident in the band’s evolution from the get-go. “Living Together” is still one of the most important songs in their catalogue, with their experimental post-hardcore // alternative rock sound packing a lot more punch.
