The Devil Wears Prada have survived and even thrived longer than most of their metalcore peers from the mid-2000s. Gaining plenty of attention out of the gate, their evolution from a musical perspective has been interesting, to say the least.
There will always be a sizable chunk of their fanbase that reveres that formative material more than anything, though. Released on August 21st, 2007, Plagues was the band’s sophomore full-length album, and it made a pretty sizable impact on the music scene. Tied to producer Joey Sturgis and his distinct production style, the album was also a part of a larger wave of Christian metalcore and post-hardcore bands that emerged during the decade.
Armed with pop culture referencing song titles, plenty of breakdowns, and also keyboards, Plagues is still a fan favorite album from the band today.
