Has your band ever been cool enough to play inside a restaurant? Even if that’s the case, it probably wasn’t as notable as the time Live Without played inside a Denny’s, though. It was an event so popular, it even has its own Know Your Meme segment. While it’s been replicated by many bands over the years (in both Denny’s and other restaurants), nothing quite beats the original.
What’s really hard to believe, though, is that the original Denny’s Grand Slam event is actually ten years old now. Pretty crazy. It’s seen a spike in popularity at various points over the last decade, often when those who haven’t seen the original suddenly become aware of its iconic existence. Which also brings up the question – what’s the weirdest place you’ve seen a musician perform at? Undoubtedly, though, the Denny’s Grand Slam will always be a part of heavy music history.
