The Killers just hit a major milestone with their massive hit “Mr. Brightside”. The song, released in 2003 off their 2004 debut album Hot Fuss, immediately pushed the band to stardom with its huge, anthemic chorus and memorable music video as well. Interestingly, the song has actually sold more copies in the UK than the USA – owing to the power pop/new wave styles that were exploding there at the time.
The song has now become the first song by a group in the 2000s – and one of very few overall – to reach one billion streams on Spotify. In a fun bit of trivia, two of the other songs from the decade to reach that milestone are Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” and, oddly enough, Jason Mraz’s “I’m Yours”. Congrats to the band on the milestone!
Wow. Thank you. https://t.co/oNg2YKgdwV
