The Devil Wears Prada debut thrilling new song, “Chemical”

One listen to “Chemical”, the 3rd single from The Devil Wears Prada’s upcoming album The Act, and you could be forgiven for wondering if it was the work of the same band. Of course, one needs only listen to certain songs in their recent discography – especially the keyboard-heavy “Care More” from their 2013 album 8.18 – to note that this song’s direction shouldn’t really surprise anyone all that much. But is the song any good? Yeah! It’s got an impressive buildup that pays off with a huge, cathartic chorus.

While there’s still a couple weeks left until The Act officially drops, it’s songs like this that really show why TDWP are still a creative force in metalcore. Not always being “heavy” seems to work in their favor, to be sure.
