Modern deathcore is shaping up to be a powerhouse of a genre with the continued gain in popularity in the music industry. From the heartlands of Northern Virginia comes The Archaic Epidemic is one of the bands that has continued to push the bounds of the deathcore genre. The group broke out with their debut EP Disillusion, released in the midst of 2021 with the drumming of Austin Archey of Lorna Shore, and unearthly vocals from Tom Barber of Chelsea Grin. The Archaic Epidemic has continued to gain momentum and impress with a slew of singles, and one EP released under their belt.
The Archaic Epidemic has just unveiled their latest song ‘Lords Of Misery’ on the Slam Worldwide platform – ringing in a new era for the band. The first song to be released by the deathcore heavy-hitters in 2022, ‘Lords Of Misery’ continues evolving the foundation of their 2021 EP ‘Disillusion’ with melodic deathcore with powerful guitar riffs, monstrous vocals with high versatility, and percussion that will make the Richter scale trigger as an earthquake. ‘Lords of Misery’ was produced by Christian Donaldson, and he helped the band bring forth their most defining vision with this newest release. I was really impressed when I heard this song come on. I found the melodic verses to be some of my favorite parts from the song, and something overall I enjoy about the band’s songwriting. Likewise, I’m looking forward to what they have coming later in the year!
