The third album in a band or musician’s career is often the most important one. It might be the debut that sets the tone for a career (Linkin Park) and the possible sophomore slump that can derail all momentum from a debut (The Human Abstract) but in the case of Radiohead and The Human Abstract (OK Computer and Digital Veil), it’s the third album that may hold the label of groundbreaking, given that years after their releases, bands are still being influenced by them.

In Wild Nothing’s (AKA Jack Tatum) case, he’s following up two great albums (in 2010’s Gemini and 2012’s Nocturne), with his new album Life Of Pause. It’s a true atmospheric adventure that gets better with every listen, but may not be as immediate as the preceding two albums. Surely, though, it’s a solid effort.
