Spiritbox have returned with their first new song in about a year with “Soft Spine”. It offers few real surprises from a musical perspective. That doesn’t mean this new song isn’t compelling, though – it just leans more on the very heavy side of things for Spiritbox, similar to songs like “Cellar Door” or even “Holy Roller”. It does display a bit of evolution in their songwriting, though, so it’ll be interesting to hear where things might head on their next record.
