Want a fairly impressive debut single? Listen to “Visions”, the debut song from Spain’s newcomers Debone.
While normally we wouldn’t blitz out of the gates with a blunt statement like that, one listen to “Visions” probably justifies it. Granted, merging electronic soundscapes with post-hardcore and metalcore certainly isn’t a new idea – not even close. However, Debone appears to be startlingly aware for a new act, as their blend of seemingly disparate genres works. Seriously, there’s everything from drum n’ bass influence, to post-hardcore, to even a little post-rock influence here. In other words, it’s all rather impressive, and hearing what the Spanish three-piece have up their collective sleeves next is just what you might be looking for. Fans of Enter Shikari, mid-period BMTH, and even I See Stars might feel at home here, but “Visions” is a song that’s a bit tough to describe. All we know is that it’s, well, pretty promising.
Debone had this to say about the debut single release:
“Musically, ‘Visions’ was one of the first proper songs we started
developing back in 2017. Since the first rehearsals we knew
something special was going on with this track. It set a tone for the
rest of the album and we learned that experimenting with different
genres was what we really wanted to do.
There’s a line in the song ‘as everyone finds their way, I’m floating like
a feather’ that really represents that time and it sums up the meaning
of ‘Visions'”.
