Coming across as a band influenced by the likes of MxPx, Alkaline Trio, and 90’s melodic punk rock, the Maryland-based band is proud of where they’re from, and it shows in both the video for the song and the lyrics. About The Band:
Southern Maryland pop-punk band Subject to Change (STC) has just released their debut music video for their hometown anthem, “Welcome to the 301.” The video is a look at what life must be like out in Southern Maryland. It talks about the people, the places, and of course the girls. With a little bit of comedy, this video has a little bit of everything that you might experience if you ever decide to visit The 301. But be careful, if you find yourself in the 301, you might never leave.
Subject to Change will be playing Park Rock Festival on September 3rd, 2016 at the St. Mary’s county fairgrounds where the headliners last year were Hawthorne Heights and Texas in July. Headliners for this year have not been announced yet. The band also has an EP that is currently available to purchase. The self-titled, self-produced “The 301 EP” can be found on the bands website and is only $5.00. For a preview of what’s to come, their song “When We’re Gone” can be found on their YouTube channel and will be featured on their new album.
Subject to Change formed in mid-2013 as a cover band looking to play local bars and venues but quickly turned their attention to original music. After only a few months the band had to go their separate ways due to life obstacles that arose. In late 2015 the band reformed their ranks and quickly went back to work with the original tracks they had planned a couple years prior. After only six months the band was finished with their first studio EP “The 301 EP.” STC is currently recording and producing their first full length album “Take it or Leave it.” The album is slated for release later this year.
