Slipknot’s “Unsainted” becomes the band’s latest single to be certified Gold by the RIAA

Rock and metal bands reaching album sales milestones of any sort are becoming increasingly rare each year. Certainly, there are a few exceptions, and Slipknot aren’t just a legacy act either. Congrats are in order for the masked metal band, whose 2019 single “Unsainted” has reached a major musical milestone.

The song, which came off the band’s 2019 album We Are Not Your Kind, was certified Gold for 500,000 equivalent album units sold as of October 7th. Of course, this isn’t much of a surprise considering the band’s popularity at this point. The new milestone joins several of the band’s previous ones as well – with multiple Gold and Platinum certs under their belts, the band has sold over 30 million albums worldwide. The band is also currently working on new music during quarantine, so if we’re lucky, we might not have to wait half a decade for a follow-up. Or maybe we will – but the wait will likely be worth it.
