On a cool Friday night the Rosemont Theatre packed with fans of legendary act The Monkees. On their final farewell tour, surviving members Micky Dolenz and Mike Nesmith, entertained fans with two full sets of hits, deeper cuts, and stories of their time together.

For a band that was made simply as a fake Beatles for TV, The Monkees have managed a 50+ year career keeping a solid fanbase the entire time. While seemingly never missing a step both Dolenz and Nesmith while aging physically have maintained a fantastic voice and stage presence here. Seemingly having a great time between one another and including the full band in the mix.

You’d never realize as well, at least as a casual fan, the amount of hits and notable songs The Monkees have are massive. Aside from the hits and covers, the band blew through a 26 song set with crowd members singing, dancing, and laughing along to tales and stories that both band members shared.

Even if you aren’t a huge fan of the band and you have the chance you should make sure to see this tour. Toted as the groups final tour your chances of catching either one of these legends after this is slim to none and both will make sure to give you a fantastic evening you won’t soon be forgetting.
