Show Review: The Band Camino – Old National Center (03.24.22)

Indianapolis, IN brought a sold out crowd packed with energy for The Band Camino on their second stop of The Tour Camino. Hastings and flor opened up the night and brought out the crowd’s energy that would be showcased all night long.  This is the band’s first headline tour since 2019 and they showed up with an incredible production. The kicked off their set with “Know It All” and “Roses” from their newest self-titled album.

Their 20 song set consisted of the perfect blend of new and old songs and included a cover of “Never a Good Time.” Vocalist, Jeffery Jordan, slowed things down for a second with “Who Do You Think You Are” a tribute song to his younger self. The crowd broke out their phone flashlights as they sang along and created an angelic choir.

Throughout the night big smiles were seen across every member’s face as they resumed playing live music again after the pandemic. While they tried to tell the crowd they were out of shape, the set flowed smoothly with every note perfectly on time and key. The sold out crowd was on their feet and dancing the whole night long. The Egyptian Room at Old National Centre was packed from front to back, and side to side and the date was one of the first to sell out over a month before the show.

Instead of doing the typical run off stage and get the crowd to chant encore, The Band Camino gave a shout out to all their crew members making the show possible before announcing they had two songs left. They closed off the night with one of my personal favorite songs, One Last Cigarette, and finally Daphne Blue. There’s about 20 dates remaining for part one of the tour, and the band recently announced a second leg with support from renforshort and Games We Play. If a date near you isn’t already sold out, I highly recommend grabbing tickets now because this is a tour you won’t want to miss.
