Every year Madison, WI has a huge Halloween party with multiple stages that shuts down the entire downtown. For 2 years now that party has been cancelled because of the pandemic. Luckily, we had Sylvan Esso bringing the party indoors to The Sylvee for 2 nights this past halloween weekend.
Sylvan Esso took the stage and immediately drew in the nearly sold out crowd with their gentle song “What If” before kicking off the dance party with songs like “Ferris Wheel” and “Train”. From there it was an emotional roller coaster of upbeat pop hits to delicate, almost minimalistic songs straight from the heart.
All around the venue people were dancing together, singing every word, and never taking their eyes off of the electric show they were all experiencing together. Between singer Amelia Meath’s killer dance moves, the beautiful soundscape Nick Sanborn was creating, and the impressive light show, you’d have to be crazy to not give the duo your full attention.
There are still a couple of weeks left of their current tour, so if you want to enjoy an amazing electro pop concert I definitely recommend that you catch one of their shows.
