We arrived just as doors were opening at the Backbooth in Orlando, and we came to find out that the show had sold out, which came as no surprise to me.

The first band on stage was You Blew It!. I had previously never heard of this band, but they more than impressed. The band showcasing their quadruple harmony vocals and triple guitar melodies, creating a beautiful tone. I’m definitely going to have to check this band out further now, and I recommend everyone else does the same.

Up next were the incredibly underrated band, A Great Big Pile Of Leaves. I’m glad to see that this band are finally receiving some recognition, even I was blown away at how passionate of a fan base they have here, as were the band, it seemed. The crowd were a lot more active during their set than I honestly expected, there were almost nonstop crowd surfers, everyone singing along to every word of every song, and the band wore huge smiles the entire time, you could tell they were having fun. There aren’t many bands out there that are as underappreciated as A Great Big Pile Of Leaves are, but fortunately it seems as that’s starting to change, I thoroughly enjoyed their set, and I can’t wait for them to come back.

And now it was time for the band I was mostly excited to see, The World Is A Beautiful Place And I’m No Longer Afraid To Die. I’ve somehow managed to miss this band every single time they come through central Florida, so I was more than anxious to finally see them live, and they definitely did not disappoint. First and foremost, this band are insanely loud, and much heavier than they are on album, but while still sounding crystal clear. Everything about their set was perfect, the absolutely crushing triple guitars meshed with the beautiful harmonizing vocals created for an intimate wall of sound that shook the venue. The only disappointing thing was their set was cut short due to the curfew the venue had, which was a major bummer, but that still didn’t keep the crowd from going nuts during the time they did have. The World Is A Beautiful Place showed why they’re at the forefront of the emo revival scene, they are an absolute must-see live band.

At this point it was finally time for Into It Over It. This is another band I managed to miss every single time they’ve come to town, and having them on the tour with the first two bands was a huge bonus for me. Evan Weiss is without a doubt one of the finest frontmen in music, period, his interaction with the crowd is something you don’t see from too many bands nowadays, unfortunately. This was easily one of the most fun crowds I’ve ever been a part of, there were nonstop crowd surfers, stage diving, singing along to every word, and surprisingly even a little pit action going on. The Into It Over It set was without a doubt one of the most fun I’ve ever seen, Evan Weiss really knows how to work a crowd, if you’ve yet to see this band live, I seriously recommend you change that. All in all, this was one of the best shows I’ve been too in quite a while, every band were great, the crowd was awesome, this was easily the best Valentine’s Day ever.
