Shoegaze, metal, and alternative rock all take center stage on Bleed’s stellar new single, “Killing Time”

Much like their cohorts in Soul Blind (who are also gearing up to release a debut full-length very soon), Texas alt-rock band Bleed are really onto something. We profiled the band (and Soul Blind, and a number of other spectacular bands in the scene) at the beginning of this year, and Bleed (which includes past and present members of like-minded band Narrow Head) are prepping their 2023 debut full-length via 20 Buck Spin.

You can hear the first song off the album, “Killing Time”, below. For the uninitiated, Bleed bring together grunge, shoegaze, alternative, metal, and even a little pop influence to create something that sound absolutely HUGE. Rest assured, with the number of bands trying to coast off a nostalgic sound in this scene, Bleed’s mixing and production, as well as their songwriting, are awfully impressive. You’ll surely hear the band being compared to early Deftones, but their grunge influences are obvious as well. It almost makes you want to go play some Halo 2 matchmaking, right? Oh, and Frank Maddocks (Deftones, Linkin Park) does the band’s album art. Whoa.
