After the long period of no shows due to COVID the legendary Arcada Theatre in St. Charles was packed for the return of crowd favorite Scott Stapp (of Creed) and an evening of rock hits.
Opening the night was local favorites Kashmir doing an evening of Led Zeppelin favorites. They got the crowd up to their feet and involved while also performing classics like “Stairway To Heaven” down to perfection. Their guitarist also managed to get the crowd going good while playing up and down the aisles of the theatre.
After a song on stage Scott Stapp took a moment to talk about how this was the bands first show back in the 16+ months since COVID had shut live entertainment down. Being one of only 3 performances for the band this year as well, tonight would be a special night for all. Playing a set mixed with songs from his time as frontman of the legendary rock act Creed as well as solo material the crowd was ready to go from the second they hit the stage. Looking and sounding fantastic Stapp was on fire throughout the night giving the crowd just as much energy back as they were giving him. If you can manage to catch him live during this short run or in 2022 and are a fan I’d highly recommend it.
Being back at the Arcada was great as well. During COVID they made some upgrades to the legendary theatre including new bathrooms, new AC, and newly redone bar / snack areas. These updates looked great and helped out a ton as well as news that Ron Onesti, owner of Arcada and other businesses, will soon be opening up a new venue in Des Plaines, IL means more rock shows for the area.
