In the world of rock there aren’t many more with such a long lasting career that has stayed around like Sammy Hagar. With stints in Van Halen, Chickenfoot, his solo band, The Circle & more Hagar has left his mark in rock forever. Thankfully for a sold out crowd in Aurora, IL he proved that Sammy Hagar & The Circle haven’t aged a bit on stage and gave the fans a night of rock they not only needed but won’t forget any time soon.
Most bands only wish they could have a roster of band members including Van Halen / Chickenfoot bassist Michael Anthony, guitarist Vic Johnson, and Jason Bonham (son of Zeppelins John Bonham). Playing a set full of hits from Hagars solo career, Halen, The Wabos, and even throwing in a Zeppelin and Prince cover the crowd was on their feet from song one and didn’t let the energy down at all.
Bands should learn a thing or two from these legends are well as everyone in the band performed with the amount of energy that acts a third their age wishes they had. For just as much fun as the crowd was having, the band themselves was having just as much fun.
