Band: Forever Came Calling
Album: Contender
Label: Pure Noise Recs
Hailing from Twenty-Nine Palms, CA, Forever Came Calling has risen quite high in the US music industry in the last two years.
Forever Came Calling released their debut full length “Contender” on July 25th2012 and has been out on the road supporting it ever since.
This album is diffidently an instant classic for any pop-punk fan. For me, its what really opened me into the genre. I had gone to Warped Tour and my friend bought the CD because they thought it looked cool, but decided they didn’t like it, so they gave it me. I left it in my car for about 2 weeks until I actually listened to it. Once I did I was GLUED to it. I memorized every single word. I listened to it religiously.
From start to finish, this album is solid. Every song just perfectly flows into each other. The stories in the songs of teenage angst, growing pains, family dysfunctions, and of course, love – are applicable to almost anyone. For me, this album really hits me in the heart. Joe Candelaria (Lead Vocals/Guitar) hits hard with his powerful vocals, which stand out in the genre, not being super high and whiney. Instead he seems powerful, assertive, elegant, and heartfelt.
I absolutely love this album. I recommend ANYONE to listen to this album. whether you’re a fan of pop-punk or not. You can relate no matter who you are, and that’s what makes it 5/5 for me.
