King of Cups are a pop-punk duo consisting of Shaun Zizi (Sugar Shaun) and Bryan Underwood (BryGuy) who pull influence from beloved legends blink-182, Sum 41, A Day To Remember, and Senses Fail to tell their own stories in their songs. Their latest single “Back To You” is the most personal King of Cups release to date, with unique elements that give it even more impact beyond what you can hear on the surface.
It tells the story of enduring love, always returning to the refrain “Home is always where the heart is.” Background vocals are contributed by a Nigerian choir as well as the subject of the song and the vocalist’s mother and vocal teacher. Typically these important figures in one’s life simply serve as muses for their art, but “Back To You” integrates these people into the song itself. Another special touch is that the single was released on the 10 year anniversary of the couple that the song is about. Stream it here!
