Dance Gavin Dance will soon be embarking on their big fall headliner Afterburner tour and Polyphia will now be joining them, tking the place of Animals As Leaders who have dropped off. Polyphia will now be supporting DGD with the likes of Veil Of Maya, Eidola, and Wolf Bear. The Tour kicks off Sept. 7th in Portland. Let us know which date you’ll be at!
The Afterburner Tour is in support of Dance Gavin Dance’s 2020 chart topping album of the same name. The album hit the Billboard charts twice last year due to the band’s decision to choose their fans over a chart position and release the digital-only version of the album first, forfeiting physical sales due to the COVID-19 induced manufacturing shut-down. In a hugely impressive turn of events, Dance Gavin Dance once again proved their undeniable popularity as the digital-only release of Afterburner (Rise Records) soared straight to the top of the charts hitting #1 across the Current Album, Alternative, Digital, Rock and Heavy Rock charts and #14 on the Billboard Top 200. This certifiable success was further cemented when the physical release of the album dropped months later and once again propelled Afterburner to the top of the charts, hitting the #1 spot on Billboard’s Vinyl, Internet, Alternative, Rock, Hard Music and Independent Current Albums as well as hitting #3 on the Top Albums and Top Current Albums charts and re-entering the Top 200 at #47.
