Pinkshift Release Third Single, “Rainwalk”

Baltimore-based punk rock band, Pinkshift, released their third ever single “Rainwalk” along with B-side track “Toro” today. Following the viral success of “i’m gonna tell my therapist on you” this past summer, the band is returning in full force with a dark and angsty sound that aims to pull listeners into a heavy fall mood.

Rainwalk is a spiteful anthem at its core. Conceptually, the song is about a tension that pulls and pushes us into confusion and anger. The song’s lyrics immerse listeners in a scene of constantly having to guess what someone else is thinking.

“The lyrics are an ode to those awful instances when someone you know very well suddenly pretends like you don’t exist. Experiencing that could set anyone off, and writing these words helped me to pin down that feeling and let it go.” -Vocalist, Ashrita Kumar

Pinkshift is the perfect band for early pop punk and punk rock lovers. The band is heavily influenced by 90’s grunge and 200’s pop punk, this influence shines through in their two new tracks. Rainwalk is heavy, in your face, and the perfect song to fit the angst 2020 has brought on. The members diverse background blend together to create a truly authentic and dynamic sound that intertwines elements of post hardcore and punk rock.

The two new songs, Toro and Rainwalk loop together to create a fluent soundtrack that’s perfect for fall. Pinkshift shows no fear in taking on an early genre that built the foundation for the music scene today. The bring a whole new level of diversity to the music scene that’s been lacking for a long time. They may be new to the game, but they’re a band you won’t regret putting on your watchlists and playlists.
