Parkway Drive continue to remove themselves from their metalcore past with new song, “Glitch”

“Glitch”, the first new Parkway Drive song in four years, shows that the band is probably not going back to the metalcore of their past anytime soon. In fact, it’s pretty clear the band is getting very comfortable settling into the XMOctane // arena rock crowd. Whether that’s a good or bad thing is up to you, obviously, as there’s worse things than being a heavier version of Three Days Grace. Considering how hard the band worked to gain their worldwide success now, though, that’s not the worst place to be.

About the new song, the band had this to say:

“Parkway Drive have always walked the line of balancing the light and the dark, and ‘Glitch’ is no exception. Sonically, we aimed to create a dark, heavy, and unnerving journey while still crafting a melody that burrows its way into your mind. Lyrically, the song deals with the phenomenon of night terrors and sleep paralysis. We all know the power our minds possess, but true terror manifests when your mind and all its fears takes physical control of your body. The glitch in your brain, where nightmares and reality cross.”
