Josh Scogin is fascinating for a number of reasons, but the biggest reason to recognize his important contributions to the music industry is by looking at the musical projects he’s been involved with over the last 10+ years – Norma Jean, The Chariot (who disbanded last year) and his new project, ’68. This project is different than his previous ones because it contains a more rock n’ roll and garage rock influence than anything the previous two bands did, but it still contains the trademark experimentalism and chaos that both bands thrived on. Their debut album In Humor and Sadness is out now as well, and if you’ve ever wondered what a mashup of Nirvana, Whitestripes, and The Chariot would sound like, this is the album for you.
I had a chance to talk with Josh after he played Anberlin’s second to last show in Tampa, Florida, and during the conversation I was able to talk to him about some upcoming tours, how ’68 differs from previous projects, and thriving in chaos. Check it out after the jump – and check out their music video for “Track One” right here!
