Emo four-piece Life In Idle, hailing from Dayton, OH, formed in 2011. They’ve since released their debut album, 2018’s She’s Out to Get Me, and a couple of singles. Their two most recent singles are “Catch 22” and the newly released “Summer Bummer”, which will appear on their upcoming sophomore LP Continuity Error(s).
The band says, “‘Summer Bummer’ is about being tethered to a role/person for better or for worse. Not because you want to be, but because without this role… what are you?” Given the song’s lamenting lyrics and sound, this specific emotional struggle very clearly shines through.
Continuity Error(s) is scheduled to come out on August 18th and the band will have the perfect opportunity to support the release as they’re playing Ohio Is For Lovers fest in September. They’ll be sharing the stage with legendary acts like Jimmy Eat World, Alkaline Trio, Hawthorne Heights, and more, and fans of these artists who are looking to discover more bands from the current emo scene will certainly be glad they get to catch Life In Idle’s performance.
