Nick Karcher is no stranger to the craft of heartbreak compositions. He has recently unveiled a new anthem single titled “The Hard Bitter Truth”. One play of this song and you can undoubtedly interpret the emotional whirlwind he’s enduring.
Karcher spills the hard bitter truth about a relationship that crashed and burned, as he is left a restless ghost of himself. He sings with utter conviction, building up to an addictive chorus. He references a cold November in grievous solitude and a chance sighting a month later, with pondering thoughts as to why the ex-lover seemed unfazed. The question at the forefront of his mind is, “If you said forever / why didn’t you stay?”
As his anguish reaches its bitter peak, he declares his final reflection on the failed relationship and his ex’s true stance on their connection, “It’s so much easier for you… It didn’t mean a thing to you.” Sonically, the track delves into a sweet blend of pop-punk and emo territory, while visually, the pop-punk star traverses into the gothic realm – opting for an authentic wardrobe consisting of heavy black eyeliner, an inverted crucifix, fishnet stockings, and a skull-patterned skirt.
“The Hard Bitter Truth” was written by Nick Karcher alongside Reece Lenzo and producer Michael Bono (Avril Lavigne, YUNGBLUD, girlfriends). The track is now available via all major streaming platforms.
