This is a good cause everyone can get behind – 4 more tracks have been added to The Great Big Susiepalooza Comp: Volume One ahead of its release this Friday, March 25th. The now 66 artist compilation CD will benefit The Lustgarten Foundation, which is dedicated to raising money to fight pancreatic cancer (https://www.lustgarten.org/) and will help raise additional money to hold a benefit show called Susiepalooza.
Susiepalooza was started in July 2015 after the passing of Sue Marchetti, the comp’s organizer’s neighbor. Sue battled pancreatic cancer and passed away from the disease in the winter of 2014. A benefit show was held in honor of her and was comprised of local bands from Long Island, New York. The show was a huge success and over $3000 was raised for The Lustgarten Foundation. This year, the organizers of Susiepalooza hope to make this year’s show even bigger and better and they hope to exceed their previous goal. This compilation CD is a step towards making this happen.
Joining the comp are Philadelphia, PA pop punk band Grayscale, Long Island, NY based emo band Whittled Down, Icelandic melodic hardcore band Great Grief, and Chicago, IL punk band Arkham. All 4 of these bands’ songs will be available as an immediate download for all pre-orders until the comps’s release this Friday alongside the currently available song by Wilkes-Barre, PA emo act Hymn.
