One of the biggest emerging bands from emo post-hardcore scene sold out and rocked out at Salt Lake City’s The Beehive on Saturday, Oct. 22. The emo melodic quartet, preceded by bands Downward and Portraits, packed the venue with sweaty bodies from wall to wall for a revival of pre-pandemic-type shows.

From the start of the show, people jumped and bodies flew across the crowd. The set began with fan-favorite song “Third Degree” off their album Feel Something, which turned five years old in October. The perfect song to get the crowd energized because of how familiar it is to fans, its liveliness continues to build until the last lyric.

During their 15-song set, they played songs new and old including their sexy, fresh single “Cherry Thrill,” a track off No Good Left To Give (B-Sides) “Panic,” and their most popular song of their career “Daylily.” The band hinted at new music they plan to release in the coming months as well as a spring tour.

Vocalist Patrick Miranda asked the crowd multiple times if everyone was feeling well and doing okay during the show. He brought a fan a towel for her nosebleed and stopped in the middle of a song to make sure another fan escaped from the middle of the crowd before passing out. Their photographer and videographer Anthony Purcella passed out waters twice during the show to keep people hydrated. These small acts may not seem like much, but it was heartwarming to see the love and care Movements has for their fans as they pave the way for a safer music scene.
