Having already been played at Detroit Red Wings games and also having experienced major viral success over the last year+, Lorna Shore have given deathcore (and extreme metal, in general) a real shot in the arm. Did we mention that a much larger audience has gotten to know the band over the last few years, despite a vocalist change and general music industry turmoil?
It’s all really impressive, to be honest. And it’s not like the band has necessarily simplified their formula to suit the masses, either – I mean, “To The Hellfire” and most of their new songs have been rather lengthy. It’s not like this is easy listening or something like that.
What’s more is that the band’s upcoming North American headlining tour, the band’s biggest headliner to date, is almost completely sold-out. In fact, at the time of this writing (and with just over 2 weeks until it starts), there’s only six dates on the tour (which also features Aborted, Angelmaker, Ov Sulfur, and Ingested) that haven’t sold-out yet. This is pretty insane, considering some of these venues are pretty sizable for a band in their genre. Basically, this is a big “fuck you” of sorts to anyone that thinks their success was only because of one viral song. Not the case, clearly.
