If you don’t know what “cinematic metal” is, perhaps London’s The Ever Living is just the introduction you need to the genre. Combining elements of post-metal, post-rock, and heavier metal genres that border on crushing, the highly engaging and unique band is set to release their debut full-length, Herephemine, on May 4th. The album, produced by Jonny Renshaw of Devil Sold His Soul, clocks in at just over 60 minutes long. You can get a first taste of the new album with the band’s new video for “Interrotron” below.
Following up their well-received debut EP (which received accolades from the likes of Metal Hammer and Already Heard), The Ever Living might well be compared to similar, revered acts like Rosetta and Neurosis – but thoroughly remain their own fully-developed beast. Whatever “cinematic metal” is truly defined as might well just be defined as The Ever Living.
