Almost four years ago, Linkin Park’s video for “Numb”, one of the band’s biggest songs, hit one billion views on YouTube. Even reaching one billion is extremely rare for a rock or metal band, and uncommon for any musician of any genre to reach as a whole. As of July 14th, 2022, there were approximately 317 music videos that had reached one billion views on the platform, and as of now, there’s 442 videos that have done so.
You can imagine the list of music videos with two billion views is even more exclusive, and that’s a milestone that “Numb” just reached for Linkin Park today. Owing also to the band’s highly-successful 20th anniversary edition of Meteora (where “Lost” is still a chart-topping hit), the song still resonates with new fans of the band who can relate to the subject matter that feels universal at times. The final song on Meteora, it’s also right behind “In The End” as the band’s most-streamed song on Spotify.
