Linkin Park’s most recent full-length album, One More Light, was released on May 19th, 2017. The album, which undertook a more pop and electronic-based direction, garnered mixed reactions and reviews across the board upon its initial release. To say it was a departure from their previous material would be an understatement, despite the fact that Linkin Park, even from the very beginning, had pop elements in their sound. It just wasn’t to this extent.
Nonetheless, it still proved to be a popular album, with two singles in particular having big chart success. The emotional title track, as well as lead single “Heavy”, have now been certified Platinum and 2x Platinum respectively, by the RIAA. Even to this day, the title track harbors strong emotions for anyone who listens, and is indeed a fan favorite.
