Linkin Park’s “Numb” reaches 1.5 billion views on YouTube, is the most-watched YouTube video by any band in the 2000s

It goes without saying that Linkin Park is one of the most beloved rock bands of the last 20 years. When the band dropped their 2000 debut album Hybrid Theory, the California rock band immediately garnered huge success – even crossing over to a mainstream audience. Needless to say, it was a generation-defining album for many millennials, especially effective in a time of world upheaval and societal tumult. Combined with music that provided a sonic template for bands all across the rock spectrum, the album has sold over 27 million albums worldwide to date.

Now, the band’s 2003 hit “Numb” has reached a big milestone – 1.5 billion views on Youtube alone. And that’s apparently not the only accolade the song has reached, recently.

Their iconic song “Numb”, which reached a billion views somewhat recently, is now the most-watched Youtube video by any band in the 2000s, regardless of genre. This according to the handy ChartData account on Twitter. This obviously excludes individual artists like Eminem, but even so, that’s huge when you consider just how big some of their competition is.
