iHeartRadio 103.5 Jingle Ball
Allstate Arena
Rosemont, IL
Dec.7th, 2021
After having to skip a year due to COVID the always popular iHeartRadio Jingle Ball tour resumed returning to a sold out Allstate Arena in Rosemont, IL.
Closing out the festivities was Lil Nas X with his first ever performance in the Chicagoland area. With a bevy of back up dancers the viral, record breaking, and positive singer gave fans hit after hit including his current singles like “Industry Baby” and older singles like “Old Town Road”. While his performance was good it was a hard act to follow due to the performances before him including Black Eyed Peas.
With original members will.i.am, apl.de.ap and Taboo, and new addition J. Rey Soul (who has replaced Fergie since her departure from the band) gave fans a high energy performance featuring some newer singles since their return but also hits. With singles such as “I Gotta Feeling” having an entire arena locked in with full energy its hard to deny just the impact these songs have had and will continue to have with fans.
Fresh off of her “Planet Her” album and loads of Grammy nominations Doja Cat came out to a frenzy of cheers showing that she could have easily been the nights headliner. With her blend of rap and pop having numerous hit singles out at the moment she commanded the stage and crowd making it clear she’ll be playing to large crowds like this soon enough on her own.
Rock pop hit makers AJR gave fans a preview of what to expect on their upcoming 2022 “OK Orchestra” tour when it hits Tinley Park next June. The band of brothers blasted through a hit of singles proving they are one of the best at making catchy songs at the moment. With fans singing along to every word the band could of continued on another hour and no one would be complaining.
Kicking off the evening was “Icy Grl” rapper Sawettie, singer / songwriter Bazzi, singer / “So You Think You Can Dance” alum Tate McRae, & singer / Tik Tok star Dixie D’Amelio.
