Let’s Talk Wrestling : WWE Survivor Series 2021 (Review)

WWE

Survivor Series

New York City, New York

Nov. 21st, 2021

Non Title RAW vs SmackDown Match
Shinsuke Nakamura (w/Rick Boogs) vs. Damian Priest

A decent match that felt like a typical Raw match. Some sloppy moves and ending it with a DQ felt like a cheap finish to a match that did nothing with either.

2 / 5

Non Title RAW vs SmackDown Match
Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair

A slow story driven match for the first half here. Both Becky and Flair played off ring wear injuries well here until it seemingly was forgotten. Ending with a cheap finish was good for the long term but not at all the best either of these two could have done.

2 / 5

RAW vs SmackDown Elimination Tag Team Match
Team RAW (Austin Theory, Bobby Lashley, Finn Balor, Kevin Owens & Seth Rollins) vs. Team SmackDown (Drew McIntyre, Happy Corbin, Jeff Hardy, King Woods & Sheamus) (w/Madcap Moss)

Honestly a very lackluster Survivor Series match. The first half was dull and slow with some dumb moments. Having Drew and Lashley counted out gave them more of a feud but took out any moments they could have. Owens walking off to start was useless too. The second half picked up action wise but never felt special as it was mainly the same guys as always.

Battle Royal
R-Truth vs. Cesaro vs. AJ Styles vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. Robert Roode vs. Sami Zayn vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Erik vs. Drew Gulak vs. Ricochet vs. Ivar vs. Jinder Mahal vs. Angel vs. Cedric Alexander vs. Apollo Crews vs. Angelo Dawkins vs. T-BAR vs. Shanky vs. Humberto vs. Chad Gable vs. Montez Ford vs. Otis vs. Commander Azeez vs. Mansoor vs. Omos

Pizza Hut dumb promos between and during the match. Really a boring and pointless match here with Omos continuing to get his push. More Pizza Hut promo afterwards to make it even worse.

0.5 / 5

Non Title RAW vs SmackDown Tag Team Match
The Usos (Jey Uso & Jimmy Uso) vs. RK-Bro (Randy Orton & Riddle)

While it had its moments this match suffered from just being a slower drag of nothing new. Sure the RKO was fun as always but everything here just reeked of generic.

2 / 5

RAW vs SmackDown Elimination Tag Team Match
Team RAW (Bianca Belair, Carmella, Liv Morgan, Queen Zelina & Rhea Ripley) vs. Team SmackDown (Natalya, Sasha Banks, Shayna Baszler, Shotzi & Toni Storm)

The best match of the night so far. Toni came out looking great here and all the women had their moments. Matched flowed at a good pace but as usual a lot of moves that didn’t seem to connect. Still an enjoyable bout here between these two teams.

3.5 / 5

Non Title RAW vs SmackDown Match
Big E vs. Roman Reigns (w/Paul Heyman)

A hard match to do without making Big E look weak against Roman as its Champ on champ. Big E took and laid out the hits here though giving up a good fight that we all knew wouldn’t be enough as Roman had to win. It was a solid bout though between the two, nothing we haven’t seen elsewhere or anything too special but a good end match to close the night. Its just hard and ultimately pointless now with Survivor Series since there are no stakes at play here.
