Warrior Wrestling

Stadium Series

Chicago Heights, IL

Sept. 12th, 2020

AAA Latin America Title Match
Daga (c) vs. Isaias Velazquez

Good opening match. Pacing was a little off but once it picked up it went good. Daga and Isaias worked well together and could really put on some clinic matches if given the time and chance somewhere.

3.5 / 5

Singles Match
Tom Lawlor vs. Kevin Ku

While usually not a big fan of Tom Lawler matches due to finding them slow drags this one surprised me. It had a good pace with it and kept it going back and forth. Kevin Ku came out looking great holding his own again Tom.

3.5 / 5

Singles Match
Kimber Lee vs. Thunder Rosa

A fantastic bout between these two women. Great back and forth with both looking good here. Lee looked great against Rosa who is one of the top women wrestlers in the industry right now. Had some great moves during it which made up for the few sloppy moments.

4 / 5

Warrior Wrestling Title #1 Contendership Match
Joey Janela vs. Warhorse

A decent match mainly held together by its bigger moments. Janela taking and dropping Warhorse off in the end zone only for Warhorse to have to run back to make it before the ten count was good. It had its goofy moments but was overall pretty decent. Warhorses gimmick was there a lot but never too over the top and Janela carried the match some.

2.5 / 5

Singles Match
Alex Shelley vs. TJP

A really slow grapple based match which came off of several faster paced match. It was a solid match that at least didn’t feel like mindless holds but didn’t do much to catch my interest or draw me into it.

2 / 5

Singles Match
Dan The Dad vs. Elayna Black

A comedy match that never hit its mark. Dan The Dad is only okay both in character and skill. Elayna Black deserved a chance to really show off and she didn’t get that here.

.5 / 5

Singles Match
Brian Cage vs. Benjamin Carter

Alex Zayne had to drop out and Benjamin Carter filled in his spot instead. Solid match against Brian Cage, though you knew Carter had no chance. They did give Carter though some good offense and close calls and this lasted much longer than I expected it too.

3 / 5

Six Man Tag Team Match
Chris Bey, Jordan Oliver & Myron Reed vs. The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier, Trey Miguel & Zachary Wentz)

Given the talent here I expected a spot filled chaotic match. Instead we got bad comedy spots and extended moments that killed any momentum the match had going for it. While it did have its moments and picked up towards the end the flaws it had shined bright enough to make this match quite the let down.

2 / 5

Warrior Wrestling Women’s Title Match
Tessa Blanchard (c) vs. Kylie Rae

Tessa played the ultimate heel here while Kylie was super over. It was a solid match with just far too much crowd and heel work done. When the match was going, it was great, almost fantastic. Just the downtime between some of these moments put such a damper on the good moments.

3 / 5
